Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Bankers Association (TBA), in collaboration with the European Union and the International Trade Centre, has launched an online platform called the “MSMEs Financing Gateway” to connect micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) with financial service providers.
This platform provides businesses with an opportunity to learn about various services offered by financial providers, while financial service providers can showcase their products and financial solutions available to meet the needs of MSMEs.
The goal of the initiative is to help businesses gain a broader understanding of financial services and promote financial inclusion in the country.
Mr. Dan Tandasi, the Director of Research, Policy, and Advocacy at TBA, explained during the launch on Monday (November 25): “The platform will help businesses understand the financial services and products available to them.”
He also emphasized that it will assist the majority of Tanzanians in gaining a wider understanding of financial services, which is crucial for national financial inclusion.
Jesse Ngoty, Manager of Research and Projects at TBA, noted that research by the ITC has shown that small businesses are often unaware of where to access financial services.
“This platform aims to bridge that gap,” insisted Mr. Ngoty.
