Ramovic’s big pay in Algeria

Dar es Salaam. With a salary like this, who wouldn’t make the move?

It has been revealed that former Yanga head coach Sead Ramovic, who has joined CR Belouizdad in Algeria, will earn nearly three times what he was receiving at Yanga.

The German coach, who joined Yanga in mid-November last year from South Africa’s TS Galaxy, led the team in 13 different matches, including six in the Tanzanian Premier League, six in the CAF Champions League, and one in the FA Cup.

He has now parted ways with the club due to a lucrative deal he secured in Algeria.

According to sports sources, at CR Belouizdad, who are second in the Algerian Ligue 1 standings, Ramovic will be earning a salary of $40,000 (approximately Sh102 million) per month.

Reports indicate that Yanga was paying him $15,000 (around Sh38 million) per month, which is quite modest compared to what he will earn in Algeria.

Known as the “Germany Machine,” the German coach has accepted CR Belouizdad’s offer and has already arrived in Algeria to take on his new role as the team’s head coach.

Ramovic replaces Abdelkader Amrani, the former coach of the team, who resigned due to poor results that led to the team failing to reach the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.

Ramovic, too, struggled to take Yanga to the quarter-finals in that competition.

Reports from Algeria state that after finalizing his departure from Yanga, Ramovic and his assistant, Mustafa Kodro, immediately began travel arrangements, as they already had flight tickets.

Additionally, CR Belouizdad have reportedly paid Yanga compensation for breaking the coach’s contract, with sources indicating they have paid over $50,000 (more than Sh127 million) as compensation.

According to An-Nahar newspaper, efforts to convince Ramovic to move to CR Belouizdad began a few weeks ago after the previous coach failed to lead the team to the Champions League quarter-finals.

This was after CR Belouizdad finished third in Group C, with 9 points, behind Al Ahly (10 points) and Orlando Pirates (14 points).

Currently, CR Belouizdad is second in the Algerian league with 26 points, just two points behind Mouloudia Algiers.

Ramovic is expected to lead the team in the upcoming Super Cup final against MC Alger next weekend.
