Tanzanian PM hails President Samia’s leadership in driving national development

Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa, described President Samia Suluhu Hassan as a resilient and visionary leader whose calm demeanour and steadfastness have become a source of inspiration for public servants and Tanzanians at large

Dodoma. Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has lauded President Samia Suluhu Hassan for being a central pillar in strengthening national unity and spearheading Tanzania’s development agenda across various sectors.

Moving the motion to officially conclude the 12th Parliament’s 19th session in Dodoma on Thursday, June 26, 2025, Mr Majaliwa described President Samia as a resilient and visionary leader whose calm demeanour and steadfastness have become a source of inspiration for public servants and Tanzanians at large.

“I am confident that we all agree her composure and endurance have been a source of comfort for her aides, public officials, and the nation as a whole,” said the Prime Minister.

He said President Samia has stood firm in advancing strategic projects, delivering public services, upholding democratic governance, strengthening the economy, and enhancing Tanzania’s diplomatic stature globally.

Describing her as a “teacher of patience” and “a symbol of courage and hope,” Mr Majaliwa said President Samia had proven that women are capable of leading even at the highest national level.

He further noted that the Head of State’s exemplary leadership had earned her both national and international recognition for her contribution to development and for raising Tanzania’s global profile.

Among the accolades she has received internationally are the Global Gates Goalkeepers Award, the 2022 Babacar Ndiaye Trophy, the Africa Transformational Leadership Award, the Pyne Africa Honourary Award 2022, and the Top Tourist Leader Award.

Nationally, she has been honoured with the Special Recognition Award from Parliament for her contribution to national development and public service, a Climate Resilience Recognition Award for her commitment to addressing climate change, and several other accolades acknowledging her contribution to the agriculture and education sectors, as well as humanitarian efforts.

According to the Prime Minister, these accomplishments have also prompted both local and international universities to confer her with honorary doctorate degrees.

Institutions that have awarded her include the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), Jawaharlal Nehru University in India, Ankara University in Turkey, and the Korea Aerospace University in the Republic of Korea.

Mr Majaliwa also commended government officials for their dedication in translating President Samia’s vision into tangible achievements.

“Today, we take pride in the remarkable progress made across sectors. These results are a reflection of the commitment shown by our public servants in implementing the strategies and vision set forth by the President,” he said.
