St George’s, Grenada. Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa arrived in the Caribbean island nation of Grenada on July 27, 2025, where he is representing President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan at the 4th Africa-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF 2025), scheduled to take place from July 28 to 30 at the Radisson Conference Centre in St. George’s.
The high-level gathering seeks to strengthen economic ties between African countries and Caribbean nations under the theme: Resilience and Transformation: Enhancing Economic Cooperation Between Africa and the Caribbean in a Turbulent Global Environment.
During the forum, Mr Majaliwa is expected to participate in the Heads of State and Government Dialogue, meet with leaders of other participating nations, and hold bilateral engagements with major investors.
These meetings are part of Tanzania’s broader strategy to attract international investment to support the building of a competitive and modern economy.
His participation reflects the country’s continued commitment to economic diplomacy, which aims to position Tanzania globally and deepen partnerships that drive inclusive development for all citizens.
Key issues expected to feature prominently at the forum include the establishment of a Free Trade Area between Africa and the Caribbean, strengthening the Africa-Caribbean Business Council, fostering economic growth through innovation, and improving air and maritime connectivity between the two regions.
ACTIF 2025 has been jointly organised by the Government of Grenada and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), a pan-African multilateral financial institution that promotes and finances intra- and extra-African trade.
The forum provides a unique platform for policymakers, investors, and business leaders from both regions to engage in dialogue, forge partnerships, and explore opportunities for sustainable economic collaboration.
