Mwanza’s new five-star hotel hits 83pc completion

The project is strategically located within Mwanza Region and one that would significantly enhance the economic value of the city and the country at large

Mwanza. Mwanza’s skyline is set to welcome a new five-star landmark, with the National Social Security Fund’s flagship hotel project now 83 percent complete.

The progress was confirmed during an inspection visit by the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office [Labour, Employment and Relations], Mr Deus Clement Sangu.

Mr Sangu conducted the inspection visit on January 5, 2025, in Mwanza City, where he was received at the project site by the NSSF Director General, Mr Masha Mshomba, alongside NSSF officials from the Mwanza Region.

After touring the site and receiving detailed briefings from project experts and supervisors, the minister commended NSSF for the progress made so far and directed the contractor to ensure the buildings are handed over within the timeframe stipulated in the contract agreement.

He instructed the NSSF management to closely supervise the remaining works to guarantee timely completion, noting that the hotel would serve as a major attraction for both local residents and international visitors, thereby generating foreign exchange and contributing to national economic growth.

Mr Sangu also expressed appreciation to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for the investment, describing it as strategically located within Mwanza Region and one that would significantly enhance the economic value of the city and the country at large.

For his part, the NSSF Director General, Mr Mshomba, pledged to implement the minister’s directives, assuring that the remaining construction works would be executed efficiently and on schedule to ensure the project is completed within the planned timeframe.
