Dar es Salaam. CRDB Bank has introduced the Jinasue loan facility as part of its strategy to enhance financial inclusion by providing access to credit for all its customers in need of funds.
The new facility, launched by CRDB Bank’s Head of Personal Banking, Stephen Adili, is designed to assist customers with insufficient account balances for their transactions or those facing financial emergencies.
Speaking at the launch, Adili said financial inclusion remains a strategic priority for CRDB Bank, as it believes that expanding access to financial services is key to economic transformation.
“We already offer loan products targeting specific customer segments such as salaried employees, university students, retirees, and businesspeople. However, we have identified a gap among other individuals who also require financial empowerment. The introduction of Jinasue is aimed at bridging this gap by offering loans to every CRDB Bank customer,” Mr Adili said.
The Jinasue loan, which will be issued in partnership with CreditInfo, will be accessible through the SimBanking platform, allowing customers to conveniently cover service costs, purchase essential goods, and settle bills during financial constraints.
Through SimBanking, customers can apply for loans ranging from Sh1,000 to Sh1 million at an interest rate of only 8 per cent.
To qualify, a customer must have an active CRDB Bank account and be registered for SimBanking services.
“Jinasue is a vital financial solution for customers facing cash shortages when settling bills and meeting essential financial commitments. This is a fast, digital, and affordable loan facility designed to support our customers in overcoming short-term financial challenges,” Adili stated.
CRDB Bank has a long-standing commitment to developing innovative financial products tailored to meet diverse customer needs while leveraging technology to enhance accessibility.
In line with these efforts, the bank introduced the ‘Salary Advance’ facility in 2017, enabling employees, including public servants, to access loans of up to Sh3 million at an interest rate of 5 per cent.
In 2019, the bank launched ‘Boom Advance,’ a credit facility for university students offering loans from Sh1,000 to Sh150,000, repayable within 60 days.
Furthering its commitment to financial empowerment, CRDB Bank introduced the ‘Pension Advance’ in 2020, designed for retirees, allowing them to borrow between Sh5,000 and Sh1 million.
With the introduction of Jinasue, CRDB Bank continues to reaffirm its position as a leader in financial innovation, ensuring that customers from all backgrounds can access the financial support they need.
