Dar es Salaam. The former Director of Administration and Human Resource Management at the Office of the Treasury Registrar (OTR), Mr Amos Nnko, has passed away in a car accident that occurred in the Same area, Kilimanjaro Region.
The accident, which took place on Sunday, December 22, 2024, in the afternoon, also resulted in the death of his eldest daughter, Maureen Nnko.
In the accident, the deceased’s wife, Mrs Agnes Nnko, and their children, Marilyn, Melvin, and another family member, Sylvana, were injured.
The injured are receiving treatment at KCMC and Mawenzi hospitals.
The Treasury Registrar, Mr Nehemiah Mchechu, stated on Monday, December 23, that Mr Nnko’s death is a significant loss for the OTR and the nation as a whole.
Mr Mchechu described the late Nnko as a hardworking, honest person who was dedicated to the nation.
“We have received the news of Nnko’s death with deep sorrow. We have lost a vital pillar,” said Mr Mchechu.
In addition, he expressed condolences to the family of the deceased while wishing a speedy recovery to the accident victims.
Mr Mchechu stated that funeral arrangements are being coordinated by the family of the deceased in collaboration with the Office of the Treasury Registrar at Tengeru, Arusha
