Treasury Registrar’s Office to relocate to Morocco Square

Dar es Salaam. The Office of the Treasury Registrar (OTR) has announced plans to relocate its headquarters from the CHC Building on Samora Avenue and Mirambo Street in the city centre to the newly designated Morocco Square, Treasury Registrar Tower, in Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam.

The relocation will be effective March 1, 2025.

According to a public notice issued by Treasury Registrar, Nehemiah Mchechu, the move aims to enhance service delivery and accommodate the growing operational needs of the office.

The OTR will occupy floors 16 to 19 of the Morocco Square building as part of efforts to provide improved accessibility and efficiency for stakeholders.

The OTR is a key institution under the President’s Office, Planning and Investment, responsible for overseeing public investments, managing state-owned enterprises, and ensuring accountability in government financial operations.

The office plays a crucial role in monitoring the performance of 309 Public and Statutory Corporations (PSCs) and minority interest corporations.

With this relocation, normal business hours will continue from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, ensuring that services remain uninterrupted during the transition.

Stakeholders have been urged to take note of the changes and direct all correspondence to the new premises from the stated date.

The OTR has been at the forefront of implementing public sector reforms, fostering corporate governance in state-owned enterprises, and driving investment strategies to enhance national economic growth.

The relocation aligns with ongoing efforts to modernise government operations and improve institutional efficiency.
