Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has joined forces with three key wildlife conservation agencies to form a joint executive committee aimed at enhancing government revenue collection and improving operational efficiency.
The agencies involved are the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) and the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA).
The decision was reached on Monday, August 4, 2025, during a consultative meeting held at the TRA headquarters in Dar es Salaam and chaired by TRA Commissioner General, Yusuph Mwenda.
“The purpose of this meeting is to share experiences and identify effective strategies for enhancing tax collection through our respective institutions. We all serve the same government, and our collective goal is to perform with greater efficiency,” said Mr Mwenda.
He emphasised that the newly agreed joint taskforce will streamline communication between the agencies, facilitate timely data sharing, and provide a unified platform for addressing common challenges.
On his part, NCAA Commissioner Abdul-razak Badru welcomed the initiative, describing the meeting as a promising start to closer institutional collaboration that is expected to enhance both performance and fiscal outcomes.
“This is the first time our institutions are meeting in this way. The formation of this committee will strengthen information exchange and ultimately contribute to increased government revenue,” he said.
The meeting was also attended by TANAPA Commissioner Musa Kuji, TAWA Deputy Commissioner Thabit Mkwaya, and senior officials from the participating institutions.
