Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Amb Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has arrived in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, to participate in the 22nd Africa–Nordic Foreign Ministers Meeting, scheduled from October 2 to 3, 2025.
Upon arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport, Minister Kombo was received by Tanzania’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, CP Suzan S. Kaganda, alongside senior officials from both Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
His visit follows an official invitation from Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Prof Amon Murwira.
This year’s meeting is themed: Innovation for Impact: Leveraging Technology and Collaboration for Future-Ready Societies.
The theme underscores the importance of innovation, technology, and international cooperation in building resilient societies prepared for future development.
Activities on the first day include a Business Forum bringing together entrepreneurs and investors from African and Nordic countries, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, aimed at promoting trade and investment opportunities between the two regions.
During the meeting, Amb Kombo is expected to present the priorities of Tanzania’s Sixth Phase Government in areas including trade, investment, education, technology, and social development, while strengthening close cooperation with Nordic partners.
He will also hold diplomatic discussions with leaders from across Africa and the Nordic countries, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance Tanzania’s relations with development partners and international allies.
