Arusha. The Board of Directors of TANAPA Investment Limited (TIL), the investment arm of the Tanzania National Parks Authority (Tanapa), was officially inaugurated on Monday, November 10, 2025, at a ceremony held in Arusha.
The event was officiated by the Chairman of Tanapa’s Board of Trustees, retired General George Marwa Waitara, a former Chief of Defence Forces.
In his remarks, General Waitara congratulated the newly appointed board members and urged them to provide exemplary leadership in guiding the company’s growth and operations.
“The Board of Trustees congratulates you on your appointment to steer this company,” he said.
“Let us work together to manage all ongoing and future projects with professionalism, transparency, and accountability. We must strengthen collaboration between the Company, Tanapa, and other stakeholders through integrity and innovation.”
General Waitara also outlined the Board’s expectations for the new leadership, expressing confidence that the directors would bring fresh ideas to drive high-impact investments.
“We expect you to enhance the company’s image across both public and private sectors, and to implement projects that align with the National Development Vision 2050,” he added.
“Your efforts should promote sustainable and productive conservation for the benefit of the nation and its people.”
Government Commended for Support
Tanapa Conservation Commissioner, CPA Mussa Nasoro Kuji, acknowledged the crucial role of the government in creating an enabling environment for investment and economic transformation, particularly within the conservation and tourism sectors.
He commended the Sixth-Phase Government under President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan for its continued support in strengthening institutional capacity and promoting strategic investments aimed at boosting the country’s economic competitiveness.
TIL Pledges Excellence in Service Delivery
TIL Chief Executive Officer, Eng Dr Richard Matolo, reaffirmed the company’s readiness to transform the contracting and construction landscape through professionalism and modern technology.
“TIL has a team of highly skilled experts with extensive experience in project execution,” he noted.
“The company is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and is fully committed to delivering works of the highest quality and value.”

TANAPA Investment Limited was established as a subsidiary of the Tanzania National Parks Authority to undertake investment and construction projects both within and outside TANAPA.
Its objectives include enhancing operational efficiency by executing projects at lower costs and generating revenue through external investment ventures that contribute to sustainable conservation and national development.
