Clatous Chama continued his fine form after scoring in his fifth straight match to help Simba SC reach the semi-finals of the CRDB Federation Cup.
Simba recorded a comfortable 4-0 win over TRA United on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.
Chama gave Simba an early lead in the sixth minute after finishing off a quick attacking move that caught the TRA defence off guard.
The midfielder has now maintained an impressive run after scoring five goals and providing two assists in Simba’s last four Mainland Premier League matches.
Simba controlled the match from the beginning, pressing high and denying TRA United enough time on the ball to build their attacks calmly.
After conceding early, TRA United tried to respond through the wings, especially on the right side where Ramadhan Salum ‘Chombwedo’ was active.
However, Simba’s defence remained organised and limited TRA United from creating clear scoring opportunities.
Simba added their second goal in the 26th minute through Anicent Oura while TRA were still searching for an equaliser.
The second goal gave Simba more confidence as TRA United struggled to recover before the half-time break.
At the interval, Simba led 2-0 through goals from Chama and Oura.
TRA United looked more disciplined defensively at the start of the second half and managed to reduce spaces in dangerous areas.
The improved defending made it difficult for Simba to break through easily as TRA placed more players behind the ball.
Despite that, Simba still controlled possession and continued to create chances through their midfield and attack.
Seleman Mwalimu scored Simba’s third goal after coming on as a substitute for Oura, while Bashiru added the fourth after replacing Libasse Guaye.
The result sends Simba into the semi-finals where they will face Coastal Union, who defeated Singida Black Stars 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw.
Before the semi-final clash, Simba will first meet Coastal Union again in a Mainland Premier League match on May 21 at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga.
