Dar es Salaam. As questions linger regarding the departure of Yanga’s coach, Sead Ramovic, former head coach of Singida Black Stars, Hamdi Miloud and his assistant Nassim Anisse arrived at Julius Nyerere International Airport early this morning, ready to join the Jangwani side.
It’s worth noting that all these coaches are foreign in Tanzania’s league.
Ramovic joined Yanga in November last year, while Hamdi took charge of Singida in December of the same year.
Ramovic bid farewell to the Yanga players yesterday after a training session in preparation for today’s Tanzanian Premier League match against KenGold.
His departure has opened up an opportunity for the Frenchman to take over the team.
This season alone, Hamdi will be Yanga’s third head coach, following Miguel Gamondi and Ramovic.
The German coach, who is remembered for his famous “Gusa Achia Twende Kwao” move, is reported to have joined CR Belouizdad of Algeria, currently in second place in the Algerian league (Ligue 1).
This comes after he led Yanga through six Premier League matches, winning all of them, scoring a total of 22 goals and conceding just two.
The team earned 24 points and left the team in second place with 42 points, just one point behind the leaders, Simba.
Ramovic leaves Yanga with a personal record of having participated in the CAF Champions League group stage with the team.
Hamdi arrived at Yanga after playing only two friendly matches before being appointed to lead the defending champions of the Tanzanian Premier League, who have held the title for three consecutive seasons.
Hamdi is also a former winner of the Algerian Ligue 1, having won the league in the 2015-16 season with USM Alger.
He also led the team to the final of the CAF Champions League in the same season.
Apart from USM Alger, Hamdi has coached clubs such as JS Kabylie, CS Constantine, and RS Berkane, among others.
