Young Africans Sports Club produced one of the most dominant performances of the season with a resounding 6–0 victory over Mbeya City, April 16, 2026 underlining their title ambitions.
Playing in front of their home supporters, Yanga showcased attacking brilliance, tactical discipline, and clinical finishing to completely dismantle Mbeya City from start to finish.
The win not only extends their impressive run of form but also strengthens their grip at the summit of the league standings, as they now boast 47 points from 19 matches.
The heroes of the night were Pacome Zouzoua and Prince Dube, both of whom delivered outstanding performances by scoring two goals each.
Their sharp movement, composure in front of goal, and attacking partnership proved too much for Mbeya City’s defence to handle.
They were well supported by Maxi Nzengeli, who added another goal with his usual flair, and Mohammed Hussein Tshabalala, who capped off the scoring with a solid finish.
This emphatic result sees Yanga set their first record of the campaign as the only team to register a six-goal margin victory this season and remarkably, they have now achieved this feat twice.
Their previous 6–0 triumph came against Mashujaa on 19 January 2026, further highlighting their attacking consistency and superiority.
The second record from this match is equally notable. Yanga have become the first team ever to defeat Mbeya City by a 6–0 margin since the club was established.
This historic defeat marks a new low for Mbeya City and emphasises the gulf in quality displayed on the day.
Mbeya City, who have endured a difficult season so far, continue to struggle with consistency and defensive organisation.
The last time they suffered such a heavy loss was on 31 December 2022, when they were beaten 6–1 away by Azam FC.
However, this latest defeat is arguably even more painful given the margin and the manner in which it occurred.
The loss also deepens Mbeya City’s defensive concerns, as they now rank among the teams that have conceded the highest number of goals this season.
Alongside KMC FC, they have each allowed a total of 30 goals so far an alarming statistic that reflects their ongoing struggles at the back.
With performances like this, Yanga continue to send a strong message to their title rivals: they are not only leading the race but doing so with authority, confidence, and an attacking force that is proving difficult to stop.
