Dar es Salaam. The Office of the Treasury Registrar has officially handed over dividends and statutory contributions worth Sh1.32 trillion to the government.
The milestone financial remittance, accumulated up to June 29 2026, comprises revenues generated from public institutions and state-owned enterprises in which the government holds a commercial stake.
Speaking on Tuesday June 30, 2026 during the annual Dividend Day celebrations, which were graced by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, as the guest of honour, the Treasury Registrar, Nehemiah Mchechu, revealed that the remittance represents a significant financial expansion.
The figure reflects an absolute increase of Sh300 billion, translating to a substantial 30 percent growth compared to the Sh1.02 trillion collected during the corresponding period in 2025.

The Registry outlined that revenue performance has experienced robust upward momentum under the leadership of President Hassan.
Total annual collections from state-backed commercial entities and administrative agencies have risen dramatically from Sh637 billion in 2021 to the current fiscal milestone of Sh1.32 trillion, marking an overall growth of 108 per cent during the presidential tenure.
The Treasury Registrar further clarified that the declared sum excludes significant independent revenues remitted by specific high-performing statutory bodies.
Notably, the reported figures did not factor in financial contributions from the Tanzania Airports Authority, which yielded Sh70.7 billion, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, which generated Sh114.14 billion.
Similarly, the Tanzania National Parks Authority contributed Sh208.5 billion, while the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority accounted for Sh90.39 billion, all of which were managed independently of the core dividend calculations for the current year.

Mr Mchechu concluded by highlighting that the inclusion of these conservation and transport authorities would paint an even stronger picture of state enterprise performance.
Had the statutory contributions from these four prominent public bodies been integrated into the central dividend pool, the comprehensive total received by the government would have reached an unprecedented Sh1.811 trillion.
