Young Africans (Yanga) were officially crowned 2025/26 Mainland Tanzania Premier League champions after defeating JKT Tanzania 3-0 in their final league match of the season.
The victory secured Yanga’s fifth consecutive league title, confirming their dominance in Tanzanian football after finishing the campaign with 75 points.
Their closest challengers, Simba SC, ended the season with 73 points, two behind the champions despite defeating KMC 1-0 on the final day.
Yanga wasted little time in asserting their authority against JKT Tanzania, producing an assured display from start to finish to ensure there would be no late twists in the title race.
Zimbabwean striker Prince Dube opened the scoring before Congolese winger Max Nzengeli doubled the advantage with another well-taken goal.

Depu added the third goal to complete an emphatic victory, sparking celebrations among Yanga supporters as the final whistle confirmed another championship triumph.
The celebrations were, however, briefly overshadowed after influential midfielder Pacôme Zouzoua suffered an injury and was unable to continue, raising concerns over his fitness ahead of the new season.
Although Simba claimed all three points against KMC, the result proved insufficient as they extended their wait for the league title to a fourth successive season.
Elsewhere, the race for the Golden Boot produced dramatic late twists, with Singida Black Stars forward Mossi stealing the spotlight on the final day.
Mossi scored a superb hat-trick despite his side suffering a thrilling 4-3 defeat, taking his tally to 17 league goals for the season.
His remarkable final-day performance enabled him to leapfrog Azam FC star Feisal Salum, who had started the day as the league’s top scorer with 15 goals.
By finishing with 17 goals, Mossi secured the Golden Boot award, capping off an impressive individual campaign despite his team’s defeat.
At the bottom of the table, Mtibwa Sugar joined KMC in suffering automatic relegation after losing 2-1 to Namungo in their final fixture.
Meanwhile, Tanzania Prisons and Mbeya City, who finished 14th and 13th respectively, will now contest the relegation play-offs against two Championship clubs for the remaining Premier League places.
The conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign once again highlighted Yanga’s consistency over the course of the season, while Simba, despite another strong challenge, were left to settle for second place as attention now turns to preparations for the 2026/27 season.
