US firm to support Tanzania’s small-scale miners with capital and technology

Falcone Sovereign Wealth Fund Partnership Inc Managing Director Nicholas Dalessandro said the company would begin implementing the programme by partnering with small-scale miners in Chunya District before expanding its operations to other mining areas across the country

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania’s small-scale miners are set to benefit from fresh investment in financing, modern equipment and mining technology following plans by US-based Falcone Sovereign Wealth Fund Partnership Inc. to invest directly in the country’s artisanal and small-scale mining sector.

The investment proposal was presented on August 4, 2026, during a meeting between executives of Falcone Sovereign Wealth Fund Partnership Inc and Deputy Minister for Minerals Dr Steven Kiruswa in Dar es Salaam, where the two sides discussed the framework for implementing the partnership.

Dr Kiruswa welcomed the company’s decision to channel investment towards Tanzanian small-scale miners, describing the move as an important contribution to improving livelihoods and strengthening the national economy.

He said investment targeted at small-scale miners generates broad economic benefits because the income earned from mining activities largely remains within the country, supporting economic growth, creating employment opportunities and improving the welfare of Tanzanians.

The Deputy Minister said the government’s efforts to strengthen the small-scale mining subsector are intended to increase productivity, improve access to modern mining methods and enable miners to participate more effectively in the country’s mineral value chain.

He also urged Falcone Sovereign Wealth Fund Partnership Inc to ensure that all its operations fully comply with Tanzania’s mining laws, regulations, procedures and government guidelines governing the sector.

Dr Kiruswa said the government has continued to improve the investment climate through investor-friendly policies and legal reforms that encourage partnerships between local and foreign investors and small-scale miners for mutual benefit.

Falcone Sovereign Wealth Fund Partnership Inc Managing Director Nicholas Dalessandro said the company would begin implementing the programme by partnering with small-scale miners in Chunya District before expanding its operations to other mining areas across the country.

He said, in addition to providing financing, equipment and modern technology, the company aims to strengthen the capacity of small-scale miners by introducing improved mining practices that increase productivity, enhance safety standards and promote sustainable mineral extraction.

Dalessandro said the initiative is designed to help small-scale miners access resources that have often remained beyond their reach, enabling them to improve production while creating greater economic value for their communities and the country.
