Simba reclaim top spot after beating Tanzania Prisons 3-0

Dar es Salaam. Simba SC delivered a dominant performance on February 11, 2025, securing a 3-0 victory over Tanzania Prisons at KMC Complex.

With this win, Simba reached 47 points, moving back to the top of the league standings, overtaking arch-rivals Yanga SC, who are now one point behind at 46.

Before the match, Simba was in second place, trailing Yanga by two points after Yanga dropped crucial points with a 0-0 draw against JKT Tanzania on Monday.

Goals from Charles Jean Ahoua, Ellie Mpanzu, and Ladack Chasambi highlighted Simba’s impressive display.

Chasambi, who faced criticism after scoring an own goal in the previous match against Fountain Gate while attempting to pass back to goalkeeper Moussa Camara, redeemed himself with a strong performance, restoring confidence among fans.

Coach Fadlu Davids praised his squad for their teamwork and execution, stating, “I am proud of the way my players performed today.”

Adding: “We controlled the game well and took our chances efficiently. It was crucial for us to reclaim the top spot, and we must stay focused moving forward.”

Looking ahead, Simba will host Dodoma Jiji on Saturday, while Yanga SC faces KMC on Friday.

With the league race heating up, every match is becoming increasingly important for both teams.
