Dar es Salaam. Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has commended President, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, for successfully implementing all strategic projects initiated by her predecessors, including those of the late President Dr John Magufuli.
Speaking at a symposium in Mwanza to mark President Samia’s four-year tenure in office Majaliwa affirmed that the Head of State has delivered on her commitment to ensure that no development project would be abandoned under her administration.
“When she delivered her maiden parliamentary address, President Samia assured the nation that all ongoing projects would continue, with new initiatives being introduced. Today, we are witnessing the tangible results of her leadership, with major infrastructural and social service projects reaching citizens, even in the remotest areas,” Majaliwa said at the symposium organised by senior journalists
He noted significant advancements in key sectors, including health, water, electricity and agriculture.
On water supply, Majaliwa said the government is implementing projects involving lakes, rivers, and dams to provide safe and clean water to communities across the country.
He noted that regions such as Shinyanga, Simiyu, Tabora, Singida, Dodoma, and Mara are benefiting from the Lake Victoria water supply project, with similar initiatives underway in Geita and Kagera.
In the health sector, he underscored the government’s investment in healthcare infrastructure, medical supplies, and equipment from ward to national levels.
“The goal is to ensure that citizens no longer have to travel long distances to access healthcare services, including specialised treatment,” he said during the event that took place on Tuesday, March 18 2025.
Addressing the energy sector, Majaliwa said that electricity has been extended to all districts and villages, with ongoing efforts to connect hamlets and islands to the national grid.
“The government is determined to ensure that every Tanzanian household has access to electricity,” he added.
On agriculture, he noted the government’s interventions in the cotton sector, saying that reforms in marketing systems, including the introduction of warehouse receipt systems, have stabilised prices and revitalised production.
“Cotton has regained its status as a key cash crop, and numerous ginning factories have been established, particularly in Simiyu Region,” he noted.
Regarding the upcoming General Election, Mr Majaliwa expressed his satisfaction with the remarks made by Mwanza Regional CCM Chairperson, Michael Lushinge, who pledged that the region would once again deliver an overwhelming majority of votes for President Samia as the ruling party’s presidential candidate.
Meanwhile, Tanzania Railways Corporation director-general, Masanja Kagosa, has lauded President Samia’s commitment to infrastructure development, recalling that she laid the foundation stone for the Mwanza-Isaka Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) line to position Mwanza as a commercial hub for the Great Lakes region.
The symposium coordinator, Aloyce Nyanda, asserted that the government’s efforts are yielding significant benefits for citizens, which is why he and fellow journalists organised the forum to review President Samia’s four years of leadership as the country’s top leader and public servant.
