Dar es Salaam. The Treasury Registrar, Nehemiah Mchechu, has urged the staff at the Office of the Treasury Registrar (OTR) to embrace the virtues of Ramadan as a source of dedication, wisdom, and service to the nation.
Speaking during an iftar gathering on Monday, March 24, 2025, at KingJada Hotel in Morocco Square, Mr Mchechu said the values of the holy month were essential in both professional and personal life.
“This month teaches us patience, dedication, and compassion for others—qualities that are equally vital in our work environment,” he said.
“I hope each of us will continue to uphold these virtues beyond Ramadan,” he added.
Mr Mchechu expressed his appreciation for the contributions of every staff member to the success of the office, and he expressed his hope that the spirit of unity would persist even after Ramadan.
He explained that the purpose of bringing staff together for iftar was not only to break the fast but also to strengthen the bond among employees as one family within the OTR.
“It is a great joy to be with you during this holy month of Ramadan, a month of mercy, forgiveness, and countless blessings,” Mr Mchechu remarked.
Mr Mchechu also encouraged prayers for colleagues who could not attend, as well as for the well-being of Tanzanian communities and the nation at large, expressing hopes for continued peace, good health, and prosperity.
