Dubai. CRDB Bank has officially launched its Dubai Representative Office, marking a significant step in its international expansion.

The launch ceremony was held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

The event was officiated by Amb Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, who represented President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

Amb Kombo commended CRDB Bank for the milestone, saying it positions Tanzania and the wider East and Central Africa region more firmly within the global capital ecosystem.

He noted that the region’s economy, estimated at nearly $800 billion, stands to benefit from being directly connected to international finance through a home-grown African financial institution.

Speaking at the event, CRDB Bank Group chief executive officer Abdulmajid Nsekela said the Dubai office would serve as a strategic platform to facilitate trade, investment and capital flows between Africa and the United Arab Emirates.

He explained that the office will support structured financing, trade finance and investment partnerships, while improving access to global capital for projects in Tanzania and across East and Central Africa.

The launch, held in Dubai, brought together senior government officials, global investors, international financial institutions and development partners.

The strong turnout underscored growing global confidence in CRDB Bank’s role as a reliable bridge between African markets and international finance.
