Dr Nchemba delivered these remarks on Saturday, April 18, 2026, during the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Meeting and Investment Exhibition

Arusha. The Prime Minister, Dr Mwigulu Nchemba, has praised Tanzanian women for their significant role in driving personal and national economic development.

He noted that women own more than 50 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises.

This statistic demonstrates that women serve as a primary engine for the national economy.

Dr Nchemba delivered these remarks on Saturday, April 18, 2026, during the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Meeting and Investment Exhibition.

The event took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Arusha.

The Prime Minister emphasised that an inclusive economy fosters peace and social cohesion.

He stated that cooperation enables economic transformation and ensures development for all citizens.

Dr Nchemba committed the government to implementing this inclusive agenda through practical actions.

He further noted that achieving the National Development Vision 2050 requires close collaboration between the private sector and the government.

Under the leadership of President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, the private sector will remain a central pillar of the economic agenda.

The government is currently exploring the establishment of a special fund to provide financial support to university graduates.

This initiative aims to nurture business ideas among the youth.

Additionally, the government intends to improve policies regarding movable assets as collateral.

This may include the use of professional certificates to secure loans.

Dr Nchemba also urged entrepreneurs to utilise improved infrastructure, such as the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and the renovated TAZARA line.

These networks provide access to international markets via the Northern and Central Corridors. Such advancements will simplify the transport of goods from Tanzania to regions as far as Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia.
