Dar es Salaam. The President of the Republic of Namibia, Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has departed Tanzania following the successful conclusion of a historic three-day State Visit, which took place from 19 to 21 June 2026.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah was seen off at the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam by the minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Amb Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, alongside senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and various dignitaries.
During her high-profile visit, President Nandi-Ndaitwah held formal bilateral talks with President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
The discussions focused on deepening cooperation across several strategic sectors, including trade, investment, education, agriculture, energy, and social development.
The two Heads of State also deliberated on regional and international matters, reaffirming the vital importance of African solidarity in addressing global economic and developmental challenges.
A key highlight of the itinerary was President Nandi-Ndaitwah’s participation in the inauguration of the Tanzania-Namibia Business Forum.
The platform brought together prominent business leaders and investors from both nations to explore new commercial avenues and joint investment opportunities.
Furthermore, the Namibian President visited several historically significant sites, including Magomeni, Mikumi, and Kongwa in the Dodoma region, which hold profound memories tied to Namibia’s history and the broader Southern African liberation struggle.
The State Visit marks a pivotal milestone in reinforcing the diplomatic, economic, and social relations between Tanzania and Namibia.
Both leaders expressed a steadfast commitment to ensuring that all agreements and directives issued during the visit are fully implemented.
This proactive approach aims to deliver tangible benefits to the citizens of both nations while preserving the enduring heritage of friendship established over many decades.
